Born in Israel, living and working in New York, Tova Beck-Friedman is an artist, filmmaker, writer and poet. Her work fuses poetry and moving images to create cine-poems, that have been shown in festivals, museums and galleries including: The Poet House, NYC; Ó Bhéal International Poetry-Film Competition; International Video Poetry Festival / Athens, Greece and The Film and Video Poetry Symposium, Los Angeles.



My work is rooted in mythology. I believe that ancient myths are as relevant today as they alway have been. We need, however, to seize control of the narrative; bring forth misleading unjust interpretations and adjust the storyline. Our representation in society is reflected in the power structure of the cumulative myths.
